This end of the year is the time to review the events that marked the year 2016

 

Acquisition of Kencro Chemicals

Groupe Somavrac proceeded with the acquisition of Kencro Chemicals. In business for 28 years, Kencro Chemicals specializes in the sale and distribution of chemicals in various formats. An expertise that made Kencro Chemicals the perfect complement for UBA, a subsidiary of the Groupe Somavrac .

New services offered

Transport Servitank acquired nine tanks for the transport of liquefied natural gas to provide services to a new customer located at about 350 km north of Chibougamau.

New Territories Served

Groupe Somavrac now has a foothold in Port-Daniel Gascon. A new team dedicated to the Ciment McInnins marine terminal has been in place since last September.

Involvement in various causes

Acting as a corporate citizen is important for Goupe Somavrac. Major donations were given to the following organizations in 2016: Fondation régionale pour la santé de Trois-Rivières, Fondation du centre de réadaptation InterVal, Centraide Mauricie and Fondation Centre le Havre. The employees of Groupe Somavrac have been more significantly involved with the Fondation québécoise du cancer through the sale of a button with the effigy of liver cancer from which one of their colleagues Geneviève passed away last year.

60 years of UBA

UBA celebrates a historic anniversary this year: 60 years of operation of the company! It is with pride that we celebrate a business anniversary. This brings forward the objectives we wish to pursue for the coming years: solidity and continuity.
